Pepper White was a course 2 (Mechanical Engineering) graduate student at MIT during the early '80's. The Idea Factory takes a look at academic and social life at MIT from the lower end of the bell-curve.

Chapter 15 is entitled Hackito Ergo Sum (I Hack, therefore I am) and includes a discussion with an undergraduate hacker who lived on the entry in Senior House where Pepper White was a hall tutor. They particularly discuss some of the plans for the 1983 graduation hack, "Nothing's Imposible," where a hack banner with those words was deployed behind West German Chancellor, Helmut Schmidt while he was giving his speech at graduation.
