Perpetrators: Not Hackers
Late in the morning of April Fool's Day, 2000, this banner appeared on the side of Building Ten, declaring itself not a hack.
This non-hack appears to be inspired by Rene Magritte's The Treachery of Images (featured in Gödel, Escher, Bach by Douglas Hofstadter), possibly as a response to the recent media frenzy surrounding MIT hacking, and the anticipation of an April Fool's Day hack.
