Fire Truck on the Great Dome

Location: Great Dome
Date: September 11, 2006

On the morning of September 11, 2006, MIT hackers placed a 25'-long Fire Truck on the Great Dome to commemorate the five-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Although MIT has no fire department, the side of the truck read "MIT FIRE DEPT."

Many onlookers interpreted the hack as honoring the men and women in fire departments across the country.

The logo portrayed Mens Et Manus dressed as firemen and bore the phrase "Meminimus" which translates to "We Remember".

Two Dalmatian dogs were prancing alongside the ladder. Inside the cab was a mock "fireman". A fire hose and pressure gauges were attached to the back of the truck.

The red light on top of the cab rotated and flashed at night.
