1000 xkcd Comics in Lobby 7
|Date:||January 11, 2012|
Hackers commemorated the 1000th issue of the popular xkcd web comic strip by posting all thousand comics around Lobby 7. The comics were attached to both pillars and walls (apparently with easily removable adhesive to avoid damaging the walls).
Comics were arrayed near the entrance to the lobby to spell out "xkcd".
A drop poster hung over the entrance to the Infinite Corridor reading "xkcd 1000".
Some of the comics were arranged near the Infinite Corridor entrance to spell out "1000". People wandering through the lobby would occasionally stop to look at the comics.
Randall Monroe, the author of xkcd, lives near MIT and his lecture on campus was hacked back in 2007.
