At the end of the Fall term in 1990, students dressed as monks marched across campus chanting and handing out flyers for ``Our Lady of the All-Night Tool.'' ("Tool," in MIT jargon, means to study hard. As a noun, it refers to someone who studies all the time).

One of the monks, ``Brother Maynard'', provided a first hand description of this performance hack for those who did not get an opportunity to experience it.

This hack provided some of the inspiration for the 1992 Cathedral hack.
