Inclusion Policy
The IHTFP Hack Gallery is a collection of descriptions of hacks that have been pulled either at MIT or by MIT hackers. These hacks are part of the unique brand of humor at MIT. While we at the IHTFP Hack Gallery want our collection to be as complete as possible, the following guidelines are necessary to narrow the focus of the Gallery to a manageable size.
Hacks included in the IHTFP Hack Gallery must:
- be relevant to a significant portion of the MIT community
- be consistent with the MIT "Hacker Ethic"
- be confirmed, either by first-hand eyewitness accounts, media coverage, or at least a sufficient number of similar accounts to ensure that we get the details right.
Should there be any question over whether or not something should be included in the IHTFP Hack Gallery, that decision will be made by the Gallery's advisory board on the basis of the above criteria. Of course our publisher, The Freshman Fishwrap, always has final veto power, but doesn't expect to ever need to exercise it.
